What is Iliotibial Band Syndrome?
ITBS is a common cause of knee pain, particularly among runners. The iliotibial band (ITB) is a thick band of fibrous tissue running down the outside of the leg from hip to shin. When tight or inflamed, the tendon rubs on the outside of the knee, causing friction, pain and inflammation.
How It Works
Applied around your leg just above the knee, the ITB strap applies compression around the iliotibial band, changing how forces transmit through the tendon. This relieves symptoms and aids healing when used in conjunction with rehabilitation exercises.
