The Final 4 of the Women’s World Cup
It’s been an incredible tournament so far, packed with drama on and off the field in what has been the biggest FIFA Women’s World Cup to date. In a tournament that kicked off on the 20th of July with co-hosts New Zealand beating Norway 1-0, the excitement and pressure has ramped up with every game. Now, only 4 teams remain in our semi final matches:
- Tuesday 15th August: Spain vs Sweden
- Wednesday 16th August: Australia vs England
Crowning a New Champion
Reigning World Champions, the United States of America, were knocked out in the round of 16 to Sweden, meaning a new name will be on the trophy this year. England are reigning European champions, while Australia, as co-hosts, will be hoping record scorer Sam Kerr is fit to fire them to home tournament glory.
The Oceaunz adidas Match Football For the Finals
We have our teams, we have our stadium, and now adidas have brought us the match football that will be used to propel one of these four teams to World Cup glory. The OCEAUNZ ball has been used throughout the tournament, but adidas held a spectacular launch event to reveal an updated model to be used during the final stages.
The new OCEAUNZ Final adidas match ball features glistening orange and gold detailing, inspired by the sunsets of the Sydney skyline, where the final will be held. The updated hues provide a fresh backdrop for the cultural markings – developed by local artists Chern’ee Sutton and Fiona Collis – seen on the ball used for the group stages of the tournament.
Incorporating Connected Ball technology, the OCEAUNZ will enable faster, more accurate officiating decisions and analytical data measurement. And most importantly of all, this adidas match football will be hitting the back of a net one way or another to crown a new World Champion.
