Road Warriors: Brooks Ghost / Ghost Max / Glycerin 20

Whether you're a seasoned marathoner or an occasional jogger, the Brooks Ghost is a fantastic choice for road running. Known for its plush cushioning and smooth ride, this shoe provides the comfort and support needed for logging those miles.

The Brooks Glycerin 20 (Glycerin 21 coming soon in February 2024) is also a great road running shoe. If you prefer a slightly firmer feeling shoe, we would recommend the Ghost. If you prefer a more cushioned feel, then the Glycerin might be your best bet.

Trail Tacklers: Brooks Cascadia 17 / Divide 4

When your runs take you off-road, the Brooks Cascadia 17 will be right there with you to take you to the end. Engineered for trail running, it offers excellent traction, stability, and protection.

The Divide 4 is slightly lighter than the Cascadia 17 model, covering you from road to light trail/gravel surfaces. This shoe offers good traction on wet and dry surfaces with a familiar smooth ride like a regular road shoe.

Support: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 23

If you’re seeking support and stability on road runs, we recommend the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 23 and the Glycerin GTS 21 (coming soon in February 2024). Perfect for most over-pronators, this shoe features advanced support technologies to guide your stride. Enjoy a secure and comfortable run, even on longer distances.

GTS stands for Go-To-Support, so it’s hard to go wrong if you explore our full GTS range of Brooks shoes.

Weather-Ready All-Rounder: Brooks GTX

For runners who face diverse weather conditions, the Brooks GTX range offers a waterproof and breathable solution. GTX refers to a gore-tex waterproof membrane coating that helps your feet stay dry - giving you one less thing to think about when the downpour starts.

Finding the best Brooks running shoe for your running style and preferred weather conditions can be tricky with so many options to choose from. And with Scottish weather, it’s important to always be mindful of the rain and low temperatures. Use our guide above as a great starting point to narrow down which model might be best for you.

We always recommend coming in to try on the shoe for yourself. You can also book an appointment to have your gait analysed with our in-store specialist so that you can be extra confident that the Brooks shoe you’re picking is suited to you.
