Greaves Sports: New Football Kits

The start of the new season is surrounded by excitement; which players are seeking pastures new? Who will be wearing the colours of a new club? Among the furore, of course, is the release of the season’s new football kits.

Separating the eye-catching kits from eyesores is all part of the fun gearing up to another year of football, so our team here at Greaves Sports have handpicked some of this season’s kits that you should add to your collection.

Manchester United

One of the most iconic kits in the world, many greats have worn the famous colours of The Red Devils. The 2019/20 home shirt honours the Champions League-winning design of 1999 some 20 years later.

Though the collars are absent, the club crest mirrors the one worn in that infamous Champions League final against Bayern Munich all those years ago.

The likes of Paul Pogba, Harry Maguire and David De Gea will be hoping that this year’s Manchester United kits bring some luck and some silverware!

Manchester City

Our next stop isn’t far, as we only have to look to the blue side of Manchester for another great-looking kit.

New manufacturers Puma have put together three fantastic kits to commemorate the club’s anniversary of 125 years, something that’s signified beneath the club crest on each shirt.

After a successful 2018/19 season, current stars including Kevin De Bruyne, Sergio Aguero and Raheem Sterling will be hoping this year’s Manchester City kits reap just as many rewards under Pep Guardiola.

The last few quiet seasons have been fairly quiet for The Gunners, but after a summer of spending in the transfer market, it looks like Arsenal mean business.

New kit manufacturers Adidas have certainly pulled out all the stops with the new 2019/20 Arsenal kits, and we’re especially fond of the zig-zagged yellow away kit design, inspired by the iconic 1991 away kit worn by club legends including Tony Adams and Ian Wright.

Liverpool celebrates the legacy of club legend Bob Paisley with their 2019/20 Liverpool kits. The Reds most successful manager would have turned 100 in January, and the eye-catching yet subtle striping on the club’s home kit first made its debut in 1982-83, Paisley’s 9th year and final season in charge.

That iconic kit was worn by legends including Kenny Dalglish and Ian Rush, and Jürgen Klopp will be hoping it brings himself and current stars including Mohamed Salah, Virgil Van Dijk and Sadio Mané similar luck in the league this season.

We’re heading overseas next, first stopping at Turin, where we’ll find the stunning selection of 2019/20 Juventus kits

Manufacturers Adidas have twisted tradition, ditching the series of stripes usually favoured by Juve on their home kit, and instead incorporating a split design of a two-coloured black and white with alternating sleeve designs.

They’ll be hoping that this 2019/20 design continues their dominance in Italian football, where we’ll see it worn by the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Paulo Dybala.

Real Madrid

Los Blancos are synonymous with instantly iconic, clean looking football kits – and the 2019/20 Real Madrid kits are no exception.

Our personal favourite of the three is the third kit itself, a mint green incarnation that is sure to stand out on both the pitch and the streets for all of the right reasons.

After a disappointing 2018/19 season, will these colours see Los Galácticos return to greatness on the domestic and European stage?

Our final stop is with La Liga giants FC Barcelona, where we’ve picked the away kit as our favourite from the 2019/20 Barcelona kits.

This kit celebrates the club’s famed La Masia youth academy, an institute that has moulded mercurial talents such as Pep Guardiola, Xavi Hernandez, Andres Iniesta and, of course, Lionel Messi.

Taking inspiration from Barca’s iconic 1979 away kit, La Blaugrana will be hoping the likes of Messi, Luis Suárez and new arrival Antoine Griezmann can continue the club’s domestic success.

If you’d like any further information on any of the kits featured, please don’t hesitate to contact our team here at Greaves Sports, our friendly experts will be happy to help with any queries!
